JDP is an amalgamation of three specialist product distribution businesses that have been successfully integrated into today's national service provider. From its first depot, opened in the early 1980’s in Ashford, Kent, the group successfully expanded the UK business through the acquisition of Duraplas, Pipewise and John Davidson Pipes from which the business takes its name.
Today JDP is part of the Tessenderlo Group, an international diversified chemicals group operating in 3 sectors: chemicals, specialities and plastics converting. Based in Belgium, Tessenderlo Group has over 8000 employees distributed in more than 100 sites across 21 countries worldwide.
JDP’s parent, DYKA, is one of Europe's leading experts in pipe work systems supplying national and international businesses. The company was established in the 1950’s as a pioneering supplier of plastic pipes to replace lead and copper. Fifty years of experience and a day-to-day commitment to maintain and exceed industry standards ensure that DYKA products, all certificated to ISO9002, are of the highest quality and durability; a combination that guarantees the long-term cost-effectiveness of its customers' installations.
DYKA, which was incorporated into the Plastic Converting Business Unit of the Tessenderlo Group in 1987, employs 1150 people and has a turnover of 250 million Euros. The DYKA Group operates throughout Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland and the Czech Republic.
JDP’s reputation is built on many years’ experience supplying pipe systems and ancillary products. During this time the company has forged alliances with the industry’s leading manufacturers to provide its customers with a total solutions offering combined with a national network of branches providing local availability.
